SuperMMU Board

Description

This was originally a simple board that provided a plugin fix to a problem the original Candle Ultimate 1MB v1.0 board had. If some cartridges were plugged into the cartridge slot a five volt signal sent by the computer to either RD4 or RD5 cartridge lines would fry the Ultimate 1MB main chip. All you had to do was pull the original MMU chip, insert the MMU chip into the board socket and then seat the board into the MMU socket on the motherboard. The Super MMU board had the voltage limiting resisters builtin. Not needed with later versions of the Ultimate 1MB boards

4in1 OS Board

Description

This board allows the user to select via a switch upto 4 different OSes. One at a time. Burn a bin file containing four concatenated 16k OS images into a 27C512 28 pin Eprom, insert that chip into the board socket and wire the switch to the board. Then install board into empty OS socket on the Atari motherboard, install the switch to the case and reassemble the case. Using the the burn order and switch selection matrix all four OS images can be switched out and the computer rebooted. Verify that all OS images will work with motherboard and Atari computer version first

Supra Parallel Printer Adater Board

Description

This board is a re-imaged version of the Supra/ICD Parallel Printer Adapter. This version is designed to be installed internally into an 800XL or 130XE case with the parallel printer connector exiting the rear of the case. It is a faithful replication of the original with all the known limitations. It requires internal access to +5V, GND, and SIO signals (CMD, DataIn and DataOut) Due to the complexity of the adapter, I will be providing schematics, parts placement guide and firmware in addition to pcb gerbers and BOM.

Tips

You will need an eprom burner capable of burning firmware into a 27C64 size eprom. Sadly those types of eprom burners are starting to be replaced by those devices that cannot directly burn the firmware directly and may need an adapter board. Ebay is a good source for both. Using most parallel printers of the day you will need to also purchase a standard DB25 to Centronics 50 pin adapter cable to go between the board and printer.
